History
Taylor & Willis CPA’s and Advisors started in 2008 when Roy Taylor and Kevin Willis came together to create a practice due to a passion to do what they love and serve their community of the Greater New Orleans area. Prior to coming together to form Taylor & Willis and Advisors, Roy Taylor was a CFO for a group of closely held companies and was highly experienced in internal reporting for large businesses.
Kevin Willis took over his Dad’s public accounting practice and brought the knowledge of public accounting services of tax, accounting, and consulting.
Throughout the years, we had the opportunity to merge with one of the Top 20 accounting firms in the country. While there, we were able to gain insight into servicing clients while being part of a much larger firm. After about 2.5 years, we de-merged and became Taylor & Willis CPA’s again to continue servicing our clients as Taylor & Willis always has in Metairie, New Orleans, Slidell, and the surrounding areas.
In October 2008, we opened our second office on the Northshore in Slidell, LA. We have experience in a wide range of industries and continue to grow in our expertise. We feel in order to grow the practice, we have to continue to ensure we are able to provide the best possible service to our clients.
Our TEAM
Roy Taylor Jr. is a New Orleans native and partner at Taylor and Willis CPAs and Advisors. Roy graduated from the University of New Orleans and currently holds an active CPA license and CGMA (Chartered Global Management Accountant) certification.
Roy works with individuals and small to medium sized businesses providing financial analysis, tax planning and compliance work. Roy enjoys active interaction with his clients and helping them accomplish their financial goals. Roy has held Controller and CFO positions with closely held companies before transitioning into the public accounting sector.
Roy currently sits on the Board of Directors at the Louisiana Children’s Museum and the Henry Aucoin Foundation, which helps families of pediatric heart patients.
As a partner in Taylor and Willis Attestation Services Section, Kevin had been heavily involved in client accountings services, auditing, tax and consulting, and planning services since he and Roy O. Taylor, Jr. started the firm in 2008. Kevin began his career working for his father in 1991, providing many of these same services. he provides litigation support services, small business consulting services, accounting services, review services, and tax services to a variety of businesses, governmental entities, and individuals.
Litigation support services provided by Kevin include trial preparation for clients involving divorce, community property, and child support calculations. Kevin had provided testimony and been qualified as an expert witness in the 24th Judicial District of Louisiana.
Kevin hails from the great city of Kenner, LA, attended the University of Southwest Louisiana (ULL), and graduated from the University of New Orleans with degrees in Business Management and Accounting.

Tia Friel graduated from Louisiana State University and currently holds an active Certified Public Accounting license and Chartered Global Management Accountant certification.
Tia resides in Slidell, LA, and is the face of our Northshore Office. She started with Taylor and Willis CPA’s and Advisors in May 2011 and has always shown a passion for wanting to have a Northshore presence. She helped make this a reality for the firm in October 2018.
Tia’s passion is working with clients to achieve their financial goals, business goals, and personal goals. She works closely with individuals and small to medium sized businesses assisting them with their tax, accounting, and consulting needs. She also works closely with several bankers, financial advisors, and attorneys in our area to better service her clients.

Colleen Haas joined Taylor & Willis CPAs & Advisors, LLC as a staff accountant in July 2019. She graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Magna Cum Laude in May 2019. Colleen earned her Masters in Business Administration degree from the University of New Orleans in December 2020. She is currently studying for the CPA exam. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising and spending time with family and friends.
